Climate Change: Scientists Say "Last Chance"

Last chance? What number last chance is this again?
How many dates of other "Apocalipses" were predicted by other cultist 'prophets'? What they do, when time is came, and there is no 'Apocalipses'? Usually they say that prophecy was incorrectly interpreted, and the date was changed.

It was the wrong kind of apocalypse.

Bless me. Isn't that described as a colourless odourless gas in most scientific literature refering to it ?
Theres horsesh#t somewhere, I can smell it ...

I've often thought the real underlying problem with man made climate change, is the scope has being allowed to grow, as politicians, the media and frustrated socialists have entered the arena and being allowed to occupy the same space and make its own conclusions...

Perhaps the problem is critical, maybe the science is honest, maybe they believe by associating themselves with power then something will be done. My view is people would trust the experts so long as they don't associate themselves too closely to the usual pack of liars and utopians so vociferously demanding everyone change, whilst maintaining the globalist agenda which is the fuel that powers CO2 in the first place.

Just for lulz: another funny environmentalistic article in "The New Yorker"
Putin and Trump’s Ominous Nostalgia for the Second World War

"Meanwhile, humanity is hurtling toward its next catastrophe. Climate change, too, is a function of our boundless callousness in wielding the awesome weapons of technology. It’s no accident that Trump and Putin are united not only in glorifying the military triumph in the Second World War but also in their disdain for climate policy. Willful blindness to our own destructive potential is integral to the glorification of the past, and to turning our backs on the future, whether it’s in a choice of uniform, in an obsession with restoring military greatness, or in a denial that our actions are killing the planet."

So, what can we answer?
"Let's strike Global Warming with the Nuclear Winter!"

There is a small number of viable solutions, but the main problem to all is the storage of energy. Batteries are currently bulky and use large quantities of rare earth metals and other polluting chemicals. Recycling Li-Ion or Ni-Cd batteries is so expensive that no-one does it, although there is a good market for recycling Lead/Acid cells.

Hydrogen is a bugger to try and store in large quantities because of the extremely high vapour pressure. So either chill it to 20 Kelvin (-253°C) or else pressurise it to about 10,000 psi. The sensible limit for cylinder storage is ~220psi.

Basically, the energy density of hydrogen is low in Watts per cubic metre (or any other measure). There is a lot of research in improving the energy density in storage but my personal opinion is that the most viable form or green energy is using solar panels to generate hydrogen gas and / or charge up a battery.

Coal should be deader than disco.

Also, offshore wind to generate hydrogen when the grid doesn't need juice. Store it off shore for ship collection then it doesn't matter if it goes boom.

Have you looked at chilled air energy storage? Neat little small scale solution.

Cheers, got it. Like Brexit then. Keep kicking the can (and the associated taxes) down the road in the hope they'll be proved right before the sun goes supernova.

Cue the usual bleaters (looking at you Grac) in 3... 2... 1...

Are any of my fellow arrsers in the business of manufacturing double glazing? If so, you and me are going on Dragon's Den. The idea is to manufacture a greenhouse from double glazing. Fill the double glazing with CO2, methane, nitrous oxide, a bit of ozone and H2O - the greenhouse gases. As the sun hits the greenhouse, the interior heats up but (according to the "climate scientists") it will retain its heat overnight due to the GHG barrier in the glass.

The only way of releasing the heat would be opening windows or coming up with a clever thermoelectric link to power other devices around the garden (my hot tub for example). What we've come up with is a life-long source of heat that can't ever dissipate back into the atmosphere. Obviously, without the ability to release the heat, the greenhouse wouldn't be fit for purpose because (again according to the "climate scientists") everything in it will die. And obviously we'd have to suspend the 1st Law of Thermodynamics for this to work - but that's OK, so does the climate lobby.

Any Dragon not seeing the immediate benefits of the new glazing or trying to poo-poo the theory can be instantly shot down as a climate-change denier. Thus forcing them to invest heavily with seed money to be spent on R&D in the Caribbean or maybe the Maldives - somewhere nice and hot with rum and yachts. Who's in?

Anyone who is in doubt that the climates changing is an idiot,

Even the wine and spirits industry are talking about how the climate will change the way they produce their products. Vinexpo May 14 2019 where they will discus the changes.

Went to an Italian vineyard last week , up in Tuscany. The guide showing us around stated.

Back in the 80ies we harvested the grapes in September,

Today we have to harvest in early august.

And less than thousand years ago (when was warmer than now) grapes has been harvested in Liverpool and Nottingham.
Climat is changing, it is always changing, and human activity is nothing, comparing with natural forces.
And yes, climate-alarmists are not interested in the research of climate-changing, they are interested in the deindustrialisation of Europe.

You need to recognise the difference between climate change and weather. The weather patterns we are currently seeing have been predicted 70 days out by meteorologists who use sun-spot forecasting rather than conventional forecasting (i.e. the Met Office). It has nothing to do with CO2, GHGs etc.; sea levels are not rising; NATO and the BAS both state ice caps are growing; glaciers in Greenland are advancing etc. etc... These phenomena would be impossible if your climate change theory was correct. Ipso facto something's wrong with your theory....

Historical Grape Harvest Dates Show Modern Temperatures No Warmer Now Than Most Of The Last 1,000 Years

Also you'd have to deconfict the effect of increased CO2 on plant growth independent of temperature...

You fool!

Read the article again. She has a "psychic" ability to detect CO2, not your useless, blundering vision of mere mortals.

To be honest I think the Mother has created this monster by indulging her autism a bit too much. Still, if you can't stay in the limelight after Eurovision you could always thrust your offspring forward and get a vicarious boost from her celebrity status.

Even if people disagree over whether man-made climate change is a thing, surely most agree that cutting pollution (especially air and plastic pollution) is a good thing that we should work towards?
