Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Im after some advice on claiming back the solicitor fees when purchasing a property. I have read JSP 752 (Chapter 7 Section 5), and will admit im a bit thick and it hasnt made it clear to me.

Heres my situation....I got posted to my new unit on 22nd April, Im now in the process of buying my first house, approx 10 miles from camp. I am using LSAP as part of my deposit (which shouldnt go towards conveyancing fees, so i wouldnt be claiming twice).

Because I am only buying and not buying and selling, does this straight away exclude me from making the claim??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, whether from someone who has claimed before, or just someone in the know

  2. You are excluded because you are only buying.

  3. Damn it! Thanks for confirming my fears
