CIRA claims Dublin weigh-in murder

Warning to the others involved in the murder
'We'll be knocking on your door' - Deputy Commissioner
'We'll be knocking on your door' - Deputy Commissioner

Garda Deputy Commissioner Twomey, televised message, should be transcribed on a plaque and forwarded to every Deputy & Commissioner of Police on this side of the Irish Sea.
.
"....... that we will be knocking on your door and make sure that you pay for this horrendous act. "
"........others involved in this crime will be brought to justice."
".......that we will make every effort and no stone will be left unturned. "

I can think of a few publicly feted lawyers who would have a fit of the vapours hearing those.

Just watching it, lots of alleged, suspected and not proven comments and he is an honourable man, and I was not aware.

All a bit of a coincidence.

Innocent until proven guilty

Indeed, bet the in-house lawyers had hours of fun checking every word or statement. I can foresee visits to a couple of Irish Jurnos, you have had your fun now end it.

In the 5 years since the Regency Hotel shooting:
18 deaths
65 people sentenced to 5 years or more for OCG offences
>€208 million in drugs
133 firearms
>5,500 rounds of ammo
>€21 million in cash

Completely on an aside, but he looks like he'd been to a proper pub fight or two as a young Garda.

I like it when senior coppers look like coppers

Or (God forbid) the good old bad old days of NSY Flying Squad when you could barely tell the difference between the DCs and the Villains.

I was cheerfully once told that you were better off being nicked up North, as "There's no PACE down in the South", possibly being spun something of a line (due to the circumstances, 'drink having been taken') but it was the slightly sinister yet avuncular chuckling of the Detective Gardai I was was chatting with that made me a little apprehensive.

Gerry Hutch was flown via Air Corps aircraft into Baldonnel this evening after being arrested in Spain about a month ago on foot of a EAW.

He was arrested on arrival and brought to a seating of the Special Criminal Court and charged in connection with murder

Must have taken a week to get there and back given its fuel range and speed....
Mmmm Distance between Dublin and Madrid is 1449 kilometers

Casa 235

Performance

  • Cruise speed: 450 km/h (286 mph, 248 kn) at 4,575 m (15,000 ft)
  • Stall speed: 156 km/h (97 mph, 84 kn) (flaps down)
  • Range: 4,355 km (2,706 mi, 2,350 nmi)

So it could do it without refuelling in just over 3 hours each way.
