£422,000,000 for 8 aircraft that won't be inservice until 9yrs (that's 9 years) after delivery.

Also, loved this bit:
"Steps were taken to minimise the technical risks to the project. For example, Boeing selected Thales Limited to provide its “Top-Deck” digital cockpit which is from the same family as the cockpit fitted to the Department’s own A400M transport aircraft and the Nimrod MRA4."
So it was guaranteed to be 'quick' and 'cheap'!

Bear in mind that's the best example they could come up with of how they wanted to minimise technical risks! :x

The 1 and 2 Star who were told in advance by Crab Air what was going to go wrong, but ignored the advice, retired a few years ago. Latter got a gong. He was also in charge of Nimrod Mk4.
