Chiang Wei-Kuo, the Generalissimo's adopted son. With the Japs breathing down their necks and nobody else giving half a shit to help, they turned to whoever would - in this case, Germany. Chiang Secundus held a commission in the Wehrmacht before being recalled to China on the outbreak of the European war.

I think it's the chap who was conscripted into the Red army, Wehrmacht, then the Imperial Japanese army (no joke).

I think he was from some (Asian) Soviet republic.

I tried Googling all this about 40 min ago for the uber genuine walt but couldn't find his name.

I vaguely recall that they (plural) were Korean.

Served in the IJA captured during some minor skirmish on the Manchukuo/USSR border.
Served in the Red Army and captured by the Germans on the Eastern Front.
Served in the Wehrmacht/Heer and captured after the 1944 invasion.

I hope they agreed which side they were on in 1950.

From memory and any further info would be appreciated.

@Smartascarrots, thankyou.

Kyoungjong Yang? I seem to remember him being mentioned in one of Beevor's books.
