Post Herrick along with the final tranche completion will be an uncomfortable, interesting and challenging period for the CDS, frank, direct and honest talking requires sacrifices but the overal winners will be the TA (army reserves or whatever).

Its never been a better time for the TA in respect of recruitment, resources and overal investment as the CoS have been informed to make the 70/30 regs and AR balance work no matter what, as for the regs expect more of the same...cuts.

Operationally experience, concurrent combined training will be difficult to achieve if the TA are unable to recruit required numbers and thus far tangible figures are midly optimistic at best, but then attempting to copy an overseas model untested in UK surroundings in tough economic times is a very tall order.

Not forgetting the new employment model (employment T&C's) brought in for Army2020...

You can imagine the slating a Junior Officer would have received if he suggested this as a model for restructuring?

Call me old fashioned but if iit has four legs, a snout and a curly tail - it is a pig and this is a pig!!
