Chepstow

Are you thinking of Beachley AAC ? That closed down many years ago. It's now just a camp. Not sure what unit is there at the moment.

Diverre,

The Army still takes Junior Soldiers, but it is radically different from what was on offer when you were serving. Try looking Here for further information.

Kind Regards

I am thinking of sending my son to Chepstow. Is it hard to get a place and as an ex RE would that help?

What age do they accept, my son is 13 in 2 weeks.

Any info welcome.

Thank you!
Might have to wait a few years till he joins, think they have upped the joining age these days.

Aye, Chepstow closed a decade ago at least.

:(
As a training unit, yes.

There is still a Regular Inf Battalion there.
True, but the thread author was on about turning his lad into a Beachley Old Boy.. I didnt see the point in mentioning it..

Fair one Fatbadge.

The only reason I metioned it as stayed there 2 years ago whilst officiating at the All Star Cup at Celtic Manor.

where as other soldiers at said comp were thrown into a college campus, en-suite, nice food, good gym with all those students , certainly seemed to keep the fellas focused on quality downtime!
