It is 5.56mm in calibre.
Gas operated magazine fed.
It has many interchangable parts with the LSW including the magazine, which holds 30 rounds.
It can be fitted with a sling.
It can be fitted with a bayonet for close quarter battle.
It ican be fitted with an optical sight (Sight Unit Small Arms Trilux (SUSAT) which is x4 magnification and a usful serveillance aid.
It has a special design trigger guard which can be removed for artic conditions.
It has a carrying handle (however, it is bad practice to use it as such)
It has a specially designed flash eliminator to reduce flash.

I cannot think of the other's (did My SAA in 2002)

It doesn't float.
It doesn't have an inbuilt bottle opener.

It doesn't come in a colour of your choosing.

This ain't Walmart!

I beg to differ! Take out the gas plug and use it as a handy lever to remove your bottle top. Tell the armourers I said it was OK.
Let him teach the weapon first, NM & D later. 1045, 252, 1043.

Hey you can pull through a whole roll of flannelette as long its the 45mm stuff. I found that out shortly before I became increasingly bored :D
I saw one lad use a bit too much of the stuff - wasn't the brightest - just as the training brigade CO was walkin by. Haha didn't see him for a while, bet he felt like a right numpty.
