Characteristics of the SA80

  1. Hi im currently going through Phase 1 training and have been told to revise the characteristics of the sa80 while on xmas leave.

    Does anyone have them or a link to where i can get them. PM me if you have

  3. It is 5.56mm in calibre.
    Gas operated magazine fed.
    It has many interchangable parts with the LSW including the magazine, which holds 30 rounds.
    It can be fitted with a sling.
    It can be fitted with a bayonet for close quarter battle.
    It ican be fitted with an optical sight (Sight Unit Small Arms Trilux (SUSAT) which is x4 magnification and a usful serveillance aid.
    It has a special design trigger guard which can be removed for artic conditions.
    It has a carrying handle (however, it is bad practice to use it as such)
    It has a specially designed flash eliminator to reduce flash.

    I cannot think of the other's (did My SAA in 2002)

    you'll get an earfull fro your training staff for calling it an SA80
    can be fitted with goodies such as a UGL,flahlight and one of those swish rail mounts :D

  10. I beg to differ! Take out the gas plug and use it as a handy lever to remove your bottle top. Tell the armourers I said it was OK.

  13. Hey you can pull through a whole roll of flannelette as long its the 45mm stuff. I found that out shortly before I became increasingly bored :D
