Chancellor is ambushed by save the regiments campaigners

I saw this on the news last night and nearly pished myself laughing!

Welldone guys, keep it up

CHANCELLOR GORDON Brown dodged the flak when members of the Save the Scottish Regiments Campaign accosted him during a tour of his prospective Fife constituency yesterday.

Mr Brown had taken time off from helping to lead Labour’s national election campaign to hammer home the party’s message at a local level.

However, when the Save the Regiments’ battle bus roared into Burntisland and heckled him using a loud hailer, he was in no mood to listen.

The campaigners pounced as Mr Brown ended a tour of a sheltered housing complex and accused him of destroying the Scottish regiments.

The man with the loud hailer, Bob Ritchie, added, “People of Burntisland, I urge you, don’t vote Labour and don’t vote Gordon Brown.”

Mr Brown simply walked away followed by campaigners and a group of photographers.

Mr Ritchie told The Courier, “We heard Gordon Brown was here and we decided to bring our battle bus because he is the man who is trying to ruin us.

“He has no interest in us what so ever.”

The Chancellor is standing in the Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath constituency which resulted from boundary changes that cut the number of parliamentary seats in Fife from five to four.

He spent the first part of the day at an enterprise initiative in Ballingry before moving on to Burntisland, where he chatted to shoppers in the High Street and then visited sheltered housing complexes at St Andrew’s Court and Allan Court.

He then headed to Kirkcaldy, where his first port of call was at the Clued Up project, a drug and alcohol initiative.

The whistle-stop tour ended at the YMCA in the town, where he met an arts group before launching a 24-hour “bouncathon” in aid of youth club funds.

YM members bounced through the night on a trampoline and bouncy castle and are due to end at 3.30 pm today.

The Save The Scottish Regiments battlebus is to be at Kinross Market tomorrow.

Chancellor ambushed
Quite agree, should be more of it.

Keep them on the run, all the way to the exit.
24 hour bouncathon? Why didn't they bounce upon his fat heid...

Top drills from the Save the Scottish Regiments campaign. Time for another Curragh mutiny type gesture perhaps? Perhaps those who have earned Telic gongs could send them back - doh, foiled again!

Vote against your Labour candidate everyone, not for another party...go tactical!
