It's a choice between either IFV module for Boxer or 270 full life spares for Ajax

Wont be quite as easy as that - but it could be done

Equally someone could be having a tiffy gun moment*
cue 2025/7 and perhaps a realistic shot of money in the pot. Look we really need an IFV Boxers to big why dont we tack on a few hundred Ajax** Hulls fitted with this turret design weve paid for and got all certified.

This is the key problem with Army culture; we have to stop people (mainly Regular DE officers) gaming the system to get ahead, of which I have seen some truly egregious examples.

IIRC the turrets are slightly different. Possibly too different I think.

Nothing because there aren’t any*. The upgrade for Warrior which isn’t happening including building the turrets.

You would probably be able to use the design on Boxer, since LM did put one on a Patria AMV, and a slightly different one on a Boxer, but there aren’t a couple of hundred turrets just lying around

* bar the 6-12 prototypes that got made for the mostly completed trials

CR2 numbers reduced and some upgrades made so they become CR3’s.
Battle group therefore to comprise of CR3’s, Ajax (both tracked) and wheeled Boxer?
Is Boxer capable of keeping up with the other two over challenging terrain????

How did LM win over BAE? That has to be the subject of an investigation. Just look at what's been achieved with CV90. All that proprietary research conducted by the Swedes was there for the taking. Were BAE hated that much that the blindingly obvious choice was ignored out of a sudden attack of ‘twisted bitterness’ syndrome? Punishment for failure in MOD\Army procurement = promotion and an MBE.
