Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I have recently acquired a CCCP medal from afghan and i cant find it online anywhere, can anyone help?

it is a white ribbon with red borders and a small oange line through the middle.

the medal itself is round with the hammer and sickle dead centre with the words (as close as i can translate without a russan keyboard) BETEPAH TPYHA

the reverse of the medal is all writing most of which are symbols rather than letters:

    anyone know what this is?

  2. nobody know at all??
  3. It should say: ВЕТЕРАН ТРУДА

    Which means: veteran of labour

It was given to "Comrades" that made a significant contribution to society, such as scientists, doctors, etc.
