If that conversation takes place, please add some unpleasantness from me.Sadly we lost another of our cats today. Lapje was a cute little thing with a mix of colours (top right) and wasn't even a year old.

Of the eight kittens we started with earlier in the year we only have my little Moggins left along with the two mothers. We know one had an accident but the other six we're not so sure about. The patchwork one was found in the yard dead. No signs of a fight or an attack, be that animal or bird. Too many to be a coincidence. We strongly suspect poisoning and at least one person is in the frame. Unfortunately found too late for an autopsy.
If I find out that somebody did this intentionally and have ironclad evidence we'll be having the kind of conversation that won't end pleasantly.
A natural death after a long and happy life with a devoted slave is bad enough for a cat. To be robbed of that by someone who has the evil in them to use poison is unforgivable.Sadly we lost another of our cats today. True. I've been a bit concerned about Burt and just returned from the vets with him.So many people think cats are just dull animals....... but you spend time with them and realise how complex they are.......
They form loving relationships, which last all their lives, at the same time they meet certain other cats and they absolutely hate them, even if they're in the same household.

But if it pans out that this is what has happened, get the scum bang to rights and get him punished as far as the law requires, because under our judicial system, if you exert retribution on the evil thing yourself, you will be the one in trouble, and possibly in jail.
Though if the law doesn't do its job, you may be justified in thinking that that is a price worth paying.
Hold him down and force feed him the poison. The conversation I would like to have would include the lines "I have acquired a particular set of skills...." Unfortunately the same people that taught the skills also installed a strong moral compass which sometimes can really get in the way. Evidence first, have an unfriendly chat, then speak with a few friends who can do some digging. Who knows we might get him for tax evasion but round our neck of the woods if its something illegal its probably more likely to be part of a pill factory.

I've acquired similar thingies to you, maybe not on the same scale but similar. The moral compass is a bit diffy though. I'm just glad I don't have my own cat in the same situation as your poor Moggin, or I'd be tempted to dish out... instructions on future conduct, let's put it like that.
On the pill factory thing, if they've made income from it, and not declared the earnings, they've opened themselves completely to an Al Capone-like scenario. That's what got him in the end, after all. Not paying the IRS. It had nothing to do per se with the hooch he sold during Prohibition.
“…..because what you don’t know is that you put the stuff in from the laundry basket and then went upstairs to check you’d rounded up all the washing. Whilst you were doing that I took a shit in the washing machine and you didn’t notice”.
NO, Jarvis… just no!
“What do you mean “is the dog in there?”Why would you say such a thing?”
