Actually got all of those games. I've gone back to Skyrim and ME. Waiting for more content from CK3 then I'll go back. Only downside, for me, to Kingdom Come was the strict adherence to their "Realistic Combat Sim" controls. Otherwise, it was great.

Troy and Mount and Blade are also favourites. Not appreciated enough I think.

I'll shut up then :)

Yesterday I found out about a little exploit on the Kaleidoscope map and people have been using it in single/co-op to kill farm. I tried it myself and got 308 kills with a LMG in a single round. It's a good way to unlock most, if not all of your weapons attachments. Because I'm crap at conquest out of a vehicle, I've found it hard to unlock much of anything.

What you need to do is play Breakthrough on the above map. Select single player/co-op and stick the AI skill on beginner.

All you need to do is take the first two sectors as normal. Then, when you get to third and final sector you head to the skyscraper and into the lifts on the left hand side as you go through the doors. Go up to the top floor and immediately turn left out of the lift fall down off the little platform you're stood on. Head round the corner (where the enemy can't follow you) and stand behind the pipes you come across. You can then fire at the enemy soldiers but they can rarely hit you. Use the specialist Angel to restock your ammo as desired and Robert is your father's brother.

Now I don't know if this will work for the Xbox One version as there are differences in map size and design between that and the Xbox Series S/X version.

Do you have the 256 player maps on Xbox, it's chaos on a PC?

They were excellent suggestions from, obviously, someone with equally excellent tastes in gaming as mine.

I've been mooching on the original X-Com games for the first time in years, though DOSbox leaves something to be desired. Also dabbling in the C&C Remaster for nostalgia sake.

Best way to play it is the original Xcom on an Amiga emulator, same game but the graphics were better for the time

It's 128 players. 64 on a team.

Ah it's 128 players max on a team on PC, less on customs maps if you choose to have less

It's the same number for current gen consoles. Last gen are limited to 64 players total so their maps are smaller and have adjustments.

I played the beta for two days without realising I was on the Xbox One beta. It was a big change when I installed the right one.

Just bought Hell Let Loose, a WW2 tactical FPS. It's been likened to Squad or Arma and it's currently installing. Looking forward to giving it a try later - anything to get me away from the disaster that is BF2042.

I've not played that one but its rival Post Scriptum which by all accounts is very similar is good. Much more focused on tactics and realism and a more mature player base.

That's what has drawn me to it. Running and gunning doesn't work in this game, it's all about communications and working as a squad.

Also they've used real imagery of locations where these battles took place - Bastogne, Foy etc so that should be neat. I'm a massive Band of Brothers fan so it'll be a nice touch.

incidentally, Dead By Daylight is one of the free games this week in the Epic store. anyone fancy a bit of co-op survival horror??

Are you on the Xbox? I know it has crossplay though. I'm very irregular when I'm on. Sometimes it's 9pm but only for a couple of hours max.

I just had a quick go to see what it's like and I know it'll be a very slow game. You can't really sprint and there are long periods running up to the front line. I know I'll have a fairly steep learning curve.

I did manage to hide in a hedgerow and take out a team of three with the BAR so I'm well happy.

Usually the companies who they licence the cars from don't want their games to take damage, as they don't want images of smashed up versions of their cars floating around.
It's the same for Flight Sim 2020. If you crash, you just either bounce around on the ground or the screen goes black. The aircraft companies don't want their planes to be damaged and shown.

I only do shooters on the PC. trying to aim with a joypad is about as much fun as a 24 hour marathon of mrs browns boys.
