We're having a memorial service today at the site of a WW2 Wellington bomber crash on 2nd January 1944:

There is a memorial stone and a seat at the site and it's just something we do every year near the anniversary of the crash. A few words are spoken about the men, along with a hymn and prayers by the local parish priest.
Six young Canadian airmen lost their lives that night and we like to remember their loss. I'll be sharing some of the time with thoughts for the lads like Tony (Nicey) Rawston who have made similar sacrifices more recently.
And I'll also raise a glass to them all in the pub afterwards.

We will remember them.
