Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Does anyone know how to remove this virus? stupid me, opened it on my mobile!

  2. Rub a bit of Zovirax on it

  3. Lol, i wish it was that easy!!

  4. S-d;

    O2's info on this advises taking the mobile (if one of theirs) to your nearest O2 shop (very helpful, probably involves parting with cash for the privilege) - http://www.o2.co.uk/help/caribevirus/0,,500,00.html

    This link - http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/cabir.shtml - might be a little more helpful, since it appears to offer access to a disinfection tool. This appears to require payment though.

    So, for the 'no pain to wallet option' this link - http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/epoc.cabir.html - seems not to require parting with cash.

    Not technically adept enough to judge which is the best answer, but the symantec chaps (via their site) have kept my computer free of the dreaded lurgies for the last couple of years, and seem to know what they're talking about.

  5. If you haven't already, install a file manager on your phone - I suggest you plug in to the mains while you do it for obvious reasons! :D

    You will need it to remove 'Caribe'.

  6. Im on vodaphone!

    Wont let me in, just comes up with the try again later etc page!

    see above

    How do I do that?

  7. Try a CarPhone Warehouse shop. Tell them you bought the phone the other end of England. They can deal with the virus.

  8. Anyother sugestions to cure my phone dilemma?
