Caribe virus

O2's info on this advises taking the mobile (if one of theirs) to your nearest O2 shop (very helpful, probably involves parting with cash for the privilege) - http://www.o2.co.uk/help/caribevirus/0,,500,00.html

This link - http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/cabir.shtml - might be a little more helpful, since it appears to offer access to a disinfection tool. This appears to require payment though.

So, for the 'no pain to wallet option' this link - http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/epoc.cabir.html - seems not to require parting with cash.

Not technically adept enough to judge which is the best answer, but the symantec chaps (via their site) have kept my computer free of the dreaded lurgies for the last couple of years, and seem to know what they're talking about.

If you haven't already, install a file manager on your phone - I suggest you plug in to the mains while you do it for obvious reasons! :D

You will need it to remove 'Caribe'.
