Nothe Fort Caretaker

36 hours per week, £24,848

Come and join a friendly team of staff and volunteers at this award-winning attraction in a stunning location!

We are looking for a caretaker with experience of working in a similar role in building maintenance, caretaking or facilities management. We’d like you to have a good all-round knowledge of building and associated trades, and experience of managing alarm systems and health and safety.

It would be great if you had skills in one of the building trades, especially carpentry. And if you’ve worked with volunteers that would be the icing on the cake!

Nothe Fort is a historic building with a fascinating story to tell. We open our doors to thousands of visitors each year and run a number of popular events. Your job would be to help us preserve this amazing, quirky building and to work with other staff and volunteers to help us develop the museum displays and visitor facilities.

If you’d like to know more about a job that provides variety and a great team to work with, please contact Mary-Anne Edwards or Kate Hebditch, job-share General Managers, 01305 766626 or

brilliant place to visit

War Hero
Grandad 2000AD was based there in the late 30's and early '40's as a member of one of the Coastal Defence Artillery Batteries.

I found it very interesting to visit esp with our kids when they were doing WW2 in their history lessons at school. Gave them a good sense of context when they looked into the family history and the impact on the family at the time.
