Camera Kit theft- Newtonabbey, Belfast

    A mate of mine was robbed at knife point last night (11/01) of a large amount of camera kit in Newtonabbey, Belfast. Separate incident from riots (although following on from them).

    If anyone sees any of the kit for sale, please let me know.

    Cash converters in town, or the Smithfield at the back of castle court. Plan b back up tonight and nail whoevers using it to take photos for loyalist websites. Ask Newtonabbey policing team where they would go to offer a reward.

    All of that already in hand, with the exception of the revisit. I've also advised him of a couple of other lines of enquiry - local rag, local lodge etc etc.

    Yup Bigeye, freelance. There were three photographers & he got jumped (the others were using high end compacts).

  5. Keep an eye on Belfast Gumtree. You can tell from the wording of the ads that half the kit on it is hooky.

    Hope you get something back at least.
