Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Currently on BBC News 24, Brown willing to reduce the number of warheads replaced when Trident goes out if US/Russia do the same and Iran also plays ball.
Waiting for BBC online to catch up, no link yet.
  2. Anything to take our minds off his financial bungling - there will be a tour of India coming up soon !!
  3. Splendid.

And now Iran is being treated like a serious nuclear player. Way to go. Now every tinpot looney knows all he has to do is threaten to get nukes and they'll be treated as a superpower by the big boys.

And notice its warheads, not missiles. Same launch quantity, less MIRV's.
  5. He might as well give up our permanent UN Security Council seat in the process. Because if we disarm our nukes then it will be taken from us along with any international influence we have left.
  6. Same throw weight, bigger bang?

and on top of more men, new kit, bigger budget and investment, they also are working on the quality aspect....

Linking the story to the Iranian nuclear issue ....

This series gave an interesting insight into Iran's perspective on the nuclear issue and the opportunities for diplomatic solutions that were missed by the Americans.

It takes an anti-Bush stance and does not paint the American's perspective particularly well, but it gives a very good understanding of where the Iranians come from. Worth a look if you have the time and get download it.
  9. That thread is already up-and-running . . .
  10. I wish the Fat Cnut would Give-Up on breathing, that way he'd do us all a fecking favour..
  11. Only one man in the world can announce that he's prepared to reduce our nuclear arsenal... the same day as the Russians announce plans to re-arm.

    Gordon the jonah strikes again.
  12. According to an Iranian expert on World at One, this, and the offer of support for Iran's "civil" (ha-ha) nuclear programme, will be a boost to Ahmedinejad's electoral prospects as he is now able to demonstrate how his hard line with the West is working.

No doubt Broon is looking to order the Treasuary to buy some gold pretty soon....

    Can he do anything right???????????????

No doubt all the nasties in the world are going to say, "Ooh, Mista Broon is removing 4 missiles form the sub on patrol, we'd better stop planning all those unspeakable things we were going to do".

Its all to do with the number of re-entry vehicles that you have in a warhead; since a single missile can be intercepted you put in multiple warheads and drop them like scatter mines, on the basis that some will get trhough the defences. Less MIRVs = more false warheads = less chance of Tehran experiencing a summer's day like no other.

    Which would be a shame.
  14. I think that it's quite obvious that he's in bed with Putin.
  15. Point taken. All a bit of a moot point anyway, can you see any of the current shower having the decisiveness to use the deterrent? If Tehran's going to get a bucket of sunshine, it'll be coming on a Jericho anyway!
