Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Anyone seen Brotherhood the new Korean War film by the Koreans.

Very good I thought, all the realism and grit of Saving Private Ryan and Cross of Iron though at times a little unbelievable and clunky.

A must for anyone wishing to enhance their DVD collection!
  2. Saw the movie loved it but cried like the girl that I am.
I didn't see it as a 'war' movie per say but saw it as a movie about two brothers, who just happened to be caught up in war. I think if I had approached the movie as a typical 'war movie' I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much, as your right that there are some scenes in that movie that just defy all credibility. Saying that it was a useful as it gave a pan-Korean perspective on the Korean war. But yeah, definitely agree that it is a must for the DVD collection.

Another enjoyable Korean war movie would be Silmido (2003) - a kind of Korean dirty dozen.
  3. You are such a girl :D
