Briton to hunt Bosnia war criminals

A BRITISH general is taking over in Bosnia, where the world’s two most-wanted indicted war criminals have evaded capture for nearly a decade.
Major-General David Leakey will assume command next week of the new European Union peacekeeping force, which is replacing Nato in the former Yugoslav republic.

In nine years of searching for Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic, the two big prizes on the run since the end of the Bosnian civil war in 1995, Nato forces have got close to capturing them on several occasion, but each time they escaped.

General Leakey, who served in Bosnia as a brigade commander under Nato in 1996-97, will have 7,000 troops under his command. About 80 per cent of these will simply swap hats, from Nato to EU, on December 2 next week. Finnish troops will take over the American area of responsibility in the north. Britain’s troop contribution will increase from 850 to about 1,000, with the responsibility of running the headquarters in Sarajevo.

Well is he wrong GB?

We've had teams of highly capable Gentlemen in there for years, as have the Boxies and the French , and nowt.

What will it take to get them?
