A spokesman for Nato says two Canadian troops and a Briton were killed in a helicopter crash in southern Afghanistan.

Lt. Cmdr. Chris Hall says the helicopter went down yesterday in the southern province of Zabul.

Hall says the crash was not caused by insurgent fire.

An additional seven American troops were killed yesterday, making it one of the deadliest days for foreign troops in Afghanistan since the start of action against the Taliban in 2001.
