British soldiers to march on Greggs pasties.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I put Smeggs in the same company as McDonalds..... unhealthy junk food.

It takes hours to wash the stink off your fingers after eating their pastry, I'd rather go hungry.

They should clean up. The overpriced pies and rolls at the hot counter in the Spar are dogshit. Those cheese and bacon turnover things are the worst.

Incidentally, you can now buy frozen Greggs products at Iceland. I always have some lurking in the bottom of my freezer, in case I can't be arsed to cook.

  3. Northerners will be well happy.

Seriously anyone seen the meat content of the current issued 'donkeys cock' sausage rolls in the duty scab pack?

It's 11% and made by Wrights I believe. Come on if you throw in an extra pigs arsehole you might make it 12%

  4. WTF is happening, from proper chefs (ACC) to Sodexho/Aramark/Whoever else to Greggs. Still, it'll keep the chavvy types happy I suppose, a home from home. Watch out for a KFC/Maccy D's/Burger King coming to a camp near you!

It seems to me that someone in charge may have actually listened to the lads for once instead of palming them off with something wank like a salad bar.

It's not replacing the scran hall, it's just being sold at the Colonel along with all the other snacks they do.

Think of it as a standeasy pick me up.

    I think it's a grand idea.

The lads are going to buy and eat shit anyway so it might as well be of a consistent quality and dirt cheap.
  7. Fair one I suppose.
  8. Greggs are the new kids on the block from where I was dragged up in the North......our pasty establishment of choice was Sayers!

  10. Ginsters? I always thought that Ivor Dewdney's pasties were the best, rarely seen outside Devon.

  11. The Greggs sausage, bean and cheese melt pastie is alright, gives me indigestion something chronic though!
  12. Ah Ivor Dewdney's Pasties & Porn! thems were the day's!!
  13. I thought they would have put Greggs into an Engineer camp to keep the POMs happy.
  14. Treat yourself to a Ron Dewdney pasty as there a house of ill repute next door .
