"Two prominent US bloggers have been banned from entering the UK, the Home Office has said" (BBC).
Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer co-founded anti-Muslim group Stop Islamization of America. The pair were due to speak at an English Defence League march in Woolwich. On their blogs the pair claim their bans from entering the UK "a striking blow against freedom" and said the "the nation that gave the world the Magna Carta is dead".

I say, bollocks, did we really want these two in London winding up the EDL on Armed Forces Day? Or any day come to that. And the nation that gave the world the Magna Carta is dead?

Reaction: Britain capitulates to jihad - Jihad Watch

My history may be shaky here but I don't recall the Magna Carta granting blanket rights for foreigners to make chods of themselves. Perhaps they were thinking of some other spurious grounds for peddling simplistic blanket hatred?

Perhaps a Mod will combine this thread with the BNP on Council Estates thread?

Given the ethnic background of King John, Magna Carta was expressly about stopping those of foreign descent/extraction from making chods of themselves and getting ideas above their station.

Indeed, if memory of Modern British History 1 from my undergrad days serves, there's a bit which says 'we shall banish from the kingdom all foreign born knights'.

So we have, in fact, upheld the Magna Carta by keeping these foreign-born crusaders out...

Ugly or not, "the pair plan[ned] to join Danish activist Anders Gravers, of Stop Islamisation of Europe, and EDL leaders Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll, at the event, on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, 29 June, where they would lay a wreath at a memorial to Drummer Rigby" (BBC) BBC News - EDL rally: Theresa May considers banning US bloggers from UK. Personally, whether Islamists or these other loons , as sirbhp says, we 've got enough nutters. This is a decent decision, we'll hardly worry about comparisons with Magna Carta. Let the lads and lasses have a peaceful day on Saturday.

It's just a shame we don't append similar restrictions upon the other rabid gobshytes that we seemingly cannot rid ourselves of.

Seems to be confirmed; Woolwich: Geller And Spencer In EDL Rally Ban, they've been forbidden from entering the country on the grounds that their presence would "not be conducive to the public good". Sky also have an item on swastikas painted on Redditch Mosque, days after a small home-made bomb exploded near a mosque in Walsall.

The gruesome twosome and Jihad Watch do have a point about Muhammad al-Arifi, who has advocated Jew-hatred, wife-beating, and jihad violence, entering the U.K. recently with no difficulty, and all the other loons we 're stuck with. Thing is, do we need these two at an EDL march laying wreaths in Woolwich on Saturday, probably not.

Hmmmmm, one afternoons bigoting does not employment make. Now if the EDL had offered one of them the job of media officer. . . . .
No bigotry whatsoever from this call sign matey. Derailing the thread were you?

There are so many lunatics on all sides in this tawdry squabble that unless the perpetrators are apprehended, it is impossible to know whether a 'racist attack' is carried out by racists or the UAF/local fanatics, and vice versa.

Tawdry squabble, yeah. Another thing, the recent violence and tit for tat attacks are worrying.
