Possible terror incident in Oz? No details at present.

'Brisbane International Airport has been evacuated and placed in lockdown, with police declaring an emergency situation. Trains have been halted to the area as the Australian Federal Police and Queensland police are currently in attendance.'

Update - Serious, but not nearly as bad as it could have been.

Brisbane Airport's international terminal has been evacuated after eyewitnesses reported seeing a man with a knife.

At about 9:00pm, Queensland police said they had made a declaration under the Public Safety and Preservation Act due an emergency situation.

Police said the incident had been contained but warned people to avoid the international terminal.

The airport has been evacuated and trains have been stopped.

"The Australian Federal Police is managing the security matter and we hope to get back to normal operations as soon as possible," the airport said on Twitter.

It certainly seems to have been resolved sucessfully

POLICE have shot a man at Brisbane International Airport after he produced a knife and threatened to use explosives.
And yet other people are reporting it as a bit of domestic violence...

Nick Sherrard said it was a dramatic scene. “Man took out a knife in departures just as we checked in,” he wrote online.

Other witnesses said they saw an “old man” pull a knife from a bag near the food court and try to stab his ex-wife in what appeared to be a “domestic argument”.
Doesn't look like a friend of Alan for a change

Just to round things off. Well done to the rozzers for using non-lethal force to finish things.

'Witnesses have recalled the screams of a woman being chased by a man holding a knife at Brisbane International Airport, with the terrifying scenes sending the terminal into lockdown on Saturday night. Police fired nonlethal beanbag rounds at the man shortly after 9pm before taking him into custody. It’s understood the man pulled a knife on a female relative and began chasing her in what police have deemed a domestic violence related situation. Police said there was no evidence to suggest the incident was terrorism related.

'Police said they negotiated with an Australian man of Middle Eastern origin before firing beanbag rounds.'

These men of Middle Eastern origin just cant seem to control themselves can they ? Seem to be well over represented in these sort of domestic violence crimes using a knife .
