Brexit - The Final

This in turn knocked on to the Remain campaign, which lacking anything positive to sell, fell back on Project Fear, which proved to be a disaster...
By "Project Fear", I take it you mean considering the possibility it could all go wrong?
Would love to sit on Patrol orders given by someone refusing to consider anything untoward.
Actions on ambush...
...Ambush? Project Fear! Dont worry, Wont happen.

Actions on getting list...

The roman empire had citizenship, single legal code and freedom of movement. The EU has the same bullet points and that is liberating for the wealthy, or young upwardly mobile... The downsides are outsourced to the legacy member states, who struggle to maintain the fiction that every citizen is happy with the arrangement.

If the EU had an ounce of sense, they would see the UK as a canary in the mine, before its too late.
Again, a key point. Neo-liberalism is very much the aristocracy of the wealthy, smart and upwardly mobile, who dominate the upper echelons of modern society. As I recall, it had its roots amongst the American super-wealthy of the late 19th, early 20th centuries, who were seeking to supplant the aristocratic hierarchies of Europe with a meritocracy of their own making, based on modernity, liberal ideals and a global outlook - it evolved through the last century (the jet set) into the neo-liberals of today.

Like all aristocracies, the fatal flaw is that unless you keep a balance between those at the top and those at the bottom (who are more numerous, if not as powerful individually), you will eventually be overthrown, either by the bullet or the ballot box. The rise of Trump is another classic example...

Just heard the term ‘Super Saturday’ on the BBC News, referring to Parliament sitting next weekend. FFS! Not sure if it’s a media term or thought up by one of our shameless Politicians.
I can think of numerous words beginning with S that accurately describe the Shenanigans, but Super isn’t one of them!

I'm inferring stuff about you, such as you're a fanny, and that you're 'woke', and that you're some kind of hippie SJW.

Lots of others understood the joke and by saying that, I'm inferring other character defects about you.

It was a joke though.
Woke?

You outed yourself last night as a champagne socialist.

The neck of you :)

Carry on wringing your hands about the downtrodden working class you claim that brexit is going to help.

You chopper

It was the chance of a better future vs the certainty of a tainted one.

As I said, I would hazard a better future for most persuaded to leave included a merit-based immigration policy with its foundations firmly in adressing economic need in the short term.

I happen to believe that in the long term we should seek to grow an indiginous skills base as much as possible.

For those jobs that are unskilled and filled by seasonal EU workers? Well, we have a whole group of professionally unemployed whom i'm cwrtain would welcome the work in return for their generous bankrolling from those that do contribute taxes to the nation.

Probably better described as "Super Saturday Morning" as they will be knocking it on the head at 2.30.

Still, probably more than enough time to cock up any chance of a deal.

We had the 2016 referendum on a GE mandate to have one; it's why the Tory party won a majority in parliament and the Lib Dem coalition was kicked into touch.

There's no public mandate for a second referendum, unless we were to have a GE and the parties who wanted one won.

But we all know why that won't happen.

Lets just hope that there is a shred of moral corage in enough of them to ensure the PM gets a decent hand to strive for the best WA outcome.

But somehow I suspect that the insurgency, aided by the useful idiots, will prevail.
