And the response from the EU has been?

Crickets...

Anyone would think Russia has most of the EU by it’s GAZPROM heated balls.

Not us, we’re well on our way to power security, thanks to the Chinese and the French.

Our food security soon to be taken care of by the speedy import of loads of Bangladeshi curry chefs of which there is a dangerous and chronic shortage of in this country.

Why do you think they are so fearful of our Economic weapon of last resort?
.
Mornin' that's why you have to join the dots. The Iraq war was about the Petro dollar and that's why ultimately POCA came in in 2002. Plus various countries had pull in their horns re the use of the 5OO Euro note some time in 2008. What the largest note in the US 100, the largest note here in general circulation is £50. Roughly compatible. The Canadians have 1000 which I came across in one job that was taken on. The ambtion of Europe is one currency but that means TAKING OVER LONDON. The dollar is the choice currency and the US stamped on the EU's ambition and that meant one of the currencies had to go. In effect the EU's ploy failed. Trump is determined that the US will dominate world trade. Unfortunately the Deutsche Mark and the Dutch Guilder have gone, both were choice currencies with strong economic bases. The Euro is not.

Of course it isn't sweetcheeks.
Keep taking the meds.

I note she contacted Macron and not the EU secretariat, which means France leads European foreign Policy. Macron was said to be on board for joint measures.

So the reality of the much vaunted EU ‘foreign policy’?
Only the two European nuclear power are willing to step out of putins shadow.

Putin must be pissing himself laughing at the EUs weak kneed response this week.

Yup, Sadaam was doing well until he said he was going to trade his oil in Euros.
Then? Long walk, short rope time.

Ireland’s a tax haven?

Here we are once again being held back by Johnnie Foreigner. The least they can do, despite us being rude, discourteous and threatening to leave. Is give us full and complete support in our dishing out sanctions and punitive measures against Russia.

Despite the fact that a red white and blue Brexit means Brexit and we can handle the Russian bear on our own while we step forward to turn the world pink.
Vlad may not even have the football team and supporters to kick around any more if they aren’t careful.

Killing two and possibly affecting 500 citizens in an unannounced nerve gas attack, and we need a proportional response.
What a load of waffle! What the UK does after Brexit has nothing to do with the post you quoted so no blame anywhere.

This is about the delicious sight of internal bickering within the EU. They are about united as a bag of cats, sealed in with nowhere to go.

Nowhere to go. That’s what I call accurate crystal ball gazing. Tillerson supports us against Russia, gets fired by the stable genius. That’s the one the Brexits are hoping is going to bail us out in regard to trade.

Correct shout, wrong crowd.

The joy of 27 countries trying to agree a common policy. The agreed policy will be as strong as the weakest knee'd country will allow.

Now May has to back up her statements with meaningful sanctions. Be interesting to see if the EU tries to stop her.

According to Beeb at 1 Juncker gave a very terse one word "Yes" after being asked about the issue. It seems the EP is pulling his tail. But then the response from Russia was about as predicted. Possibly this is one of Putin Prank that's just gone horribly wrong

erm that's possibly a wrong deduction. Trump has just appointed an ex CIA boss to replace him, which I suspect means Mueller is in his sights. Right now Putin is in schtuck

But, but .....none of those are from the Express or Mail. The "leaving the asylum early for the day" crowd won't believe any of those until the paper of choice comes up with it.
And you've only give a few examples for the claque to start saying "it's not all of them, though, just a few spokesmen".
Things like:
The European Union will stand by Britain after London said it was likely that Moscow was behind a nerve toxin attack on a former Russian double agent in England
and
The European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis reassures Britain of EU support.
"We are very much concerned with the situation, also the findings the UK has so far. Of course the UK can count on EU solidarity in this regard"
The Belgium MEP Guy Verhofstadt tweeted, "We stand shoulder to shoulder with the British people. It must be made clear that an attack against one EU & NATO country is an attack on all of us"

Now, I know @Baglock and @Higgs_bosun are a bit OTT, and not even funny, when they call the claque mongs. Trouble is, they go to extreme lengths to prove him right.

Withe greatest of Respect, there is no option in this matter. To do otherwise would appear curmudgeonly. My main point is the the EU really only chooses to take the lead when it see's it's own interest. Now I'm pleased to note that NATO allies are in concord (e)
