Brexit Phase Two - Trade

few interesting stories in the papers over the weekend that may indicate that politics as we know it may be changing!

1. Many of the usual suspect Tory Remainers eg Soubry, Woolaston, Grieve etc facing serious deselection challenges in their local constituencies from Brexit supporters at the local elections in March
2. Likewise there are alledgedly up to 100 'moderate' Labour MPs facing deselection from hard line extremist momentum activists
3. Nigel Farages new Brexit party has been reported to have gained 100,000 members in a single week - before it has officially launched!

looks to me that both the Conservatives and Labour Party's have serious (and growing) problems and that anyone who can form a Brexit supporting, middle ground party without the taint od 'uselessness' that the mainstream parties currently have, has got a real chance of stealing power from them or at the very least scare the bejesus out of them! - provided they can keep out the extreme elements of course!
Add this to the mix...

That’s what this country needs a right wing national party pretending to be for the people. Let’s give it a socialist name to include/fool everyone. How about the Nationalist Socialist Party ?

If the status quo endured, NATO would still only have 12 members.
The original 12 members probably had more capabilities than the present membership and that expansion was during a period when the russians were a little less belicose as they are today.. My point, is still valid, times change and instead of a long hard renegotiation all we got was new members bolted onto the side of our unhappy vehicle and all that plate is overloading the engines patience (USA).

The EU and a Protectionist Trade were frightened of departing, China, Digital, Globalisation and the fashion for reducing militaries to the barebones are all what I would call fundamental changes to the status quo. But, we are ruled by things our grandfathers inked 70 years ago?

God help us all. A rich banker with a German Wife .. how strangely English. That’s the problem with the English. Identity issues, you need to be ruled by Herman’s to feel complete. Post Brexit what you gonna do then ? You’re the country who won’t let its own country men fly it’s own flag. Us celts are way ahead of the curve, one day England will figure out where it needs to be now that imperialism is dead in the water. How long before the English scream for independence ? Brexit at all costs , seems to me it will be a heavy price to pay, get ready to explain your rational to the grand Kids how you lost control and the power within the UK.

Are you confusing England with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?
The two are different.

Define Celts. Seems to be a bit of confusion on that too. Who do you define as Celts?

Not at all I’m suggesting that the English struggle to live in their own skin with the biggest critics of the the English being the English. I can define Celt just look in the dictionary. Define Englishness if you will ? You will do anything to attack any other country but hate looking though the window of your own front room. Never before has the English nation been so divided. The Scots voted to remain. It’s only the poor parts of wales who supported the leave vote. The poverty stricken parts that would vote for anything if they thought life would change a bit.

You can add in:

Two more senior Tory MPs facing deselection votes as 'purple momentum' purge gathers pace
Two more senior moderate Conservative MPs are facing deselection votes at their annual meetings as the “purple momentum” assault on them by hardline Eurosceptics gathers pace.

Sir Alan Duncan is facing a motion of no confidence at his annual meeting, while Sarah Wollaston, chairman of the Health select committee, is facing a challenge at either an extraordinary meeting in the next fortnight or an AGM.
Among other things, the Brexit process is forcing a fundamental realignment in British politics.
  • In the Labour party many MP's are increasingly unhappy with the hard-left leadership and the failure to tackle anti-semitisim in the party.
  • In the Tory party, many Brexit supporting activists are unhappy with Remain supporting MPs trying to actively thwart the will of the electorate.
With Farage's new party waiting in the wings and the Limp Dems invisible to the naked eye, we could be seeing the start of a significant upheaval in UK politics.

@BaggyDrawers I have just returned the compliment of issuing you a load of dumbs. I issued them on the basis of every post rated on its merit. It is a crying shame that there is not a big pile of steaming elephant dung button.

Speak with your alter ego's ( plural ) and see if you can work it out why I appear to be posting at 0145.

Oh No, the Germans have spoken and we must cancel Brexit. :D:D

Germany warns it will stop extradition of its citizens to UK after Brexit: FT | Reuters

You seem to be posting a lot on here, Biff. Is everything ok?
