Brexit Endgame

Ta much, saves me getting all the prayers from @Sixty but I did notice you used the opporchancity to blame me! You are not a member of Momentum by any chance are you?

Personally, me, myself, I would have used as a title "Brexit - Exit". I don't think that this is the Endgame but just the next stage.
Haha! Sorry, wasn't meant to "blame" you. It was meant to come across like we'd actually thought about this and weren't just starting more threads for the hell of it.

Also made it clear about closing others... And despite my thoughts on the political obsession we've seen on this site over the last few years in particular, people still have a gripe.

Such as life. Good to see the whingeing squaddie is still alive within most of us, eh?

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
Guess the by who.

I've made a similar argument in the past and even gone as far as asking Admin if we can obliterate the Brexit forum once it's all over.

Unfortunately we are in a very unique, once in a generation type phase in our respective lives and no matter where you look, who you talk to, Brexit pretty much clouds everything.

I try not to get too involved and like you, I'd much rather hear about military dits on a military forum.

But as a relatively new moderator in these parts, the least I can do is close down the majority of the many, many threads we have running on this in the name of a little housekeeping and try to contain the political debates as best we can. Under the circumstances.
True. I hear you. I even feel you, but come on, really? The idea of a forum is to be anonymous and big yourself up a bit, like trying to pull when you are clearly punching, but to come online to a site like this to cry? Get to fcuk. Surely there are political forums for this level of boring b@stardry? It doesnt help when boring fcuks like Auld Yin start 7 political threads per hour, and as he is seen as old skool is allowed, We had a scale A breif on Weds and Charlie Oscar asked who was voting, less than 50% put their paws up. Shows how much we care doesn't it.
You know, I was called a racist the other day, because I voyed to leave the EU. This was by an African soldier who cant have had citizenship for long. That gripped my shoyte.
**** Brexit (which is a word I fookin hate. It sounds like it is aimed at my 6 year old). **** Corbyn. **** talking about politics. **** civvies and **** the weather.

You wouldnt know that this was a site for soldiers. Today 7 of the first 10 threads were farkeeng politics based threads. Some people need to either remember that they were soldiers and man up a bit, or realise that they are weak, noodle armed unattractive to women small cokked civilians and sling their collective hook. I would rather just have a forum where the remaining 27 of us just called the other 26 a sprog/mong/cock on repeat than have to deal with these weaklings/walts/colonials. And your mum dresses you funny @Sixty
I remember when the majority of the army were from council schemes/estates and, broadly, small 's' socialist and it doesn't seem too long ago. I suppose that the army's predilection for paying people quite a lot of money once they receive a bit of responsibility contributes to the general right wing/small 'c' conservatism on here but it might just be that they're now elderly cu[nts with nothing else to do all day beyond bitch on here in unending torrents, their fire-selector set permanently to A as we didn't have a P for permasend.

Does his majority make it more or likely that the flavour of brexit we’ll end up with will be softer? He doesn’t necessarily have to keep the ERG on side anymore and he’s now got a lot of MP’s who represent areas with manufacturing jobs that will be dependent on supply chains being assured.
One look at his record shows that Johnson's a pragmatist and a shrewd operator - he's not going to do any deal which gives credibility to the narrative that he 'sold out' because that would be the most effective line of attack for his enemies, and nor is he going to indulge in damaging heroic gestures for their own sake.

Any business worth its salt mitigated its supply chain risk when the result of the referendum was known.

Apparently at least one person couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about. Voting Conservative, because with Johnson going on about ‘Getting Brexit Done’ we were staying in Europe and everything was going to return to normal.
Please provide a link to whoever this person is, I would love to read about it.
In fact, please supply links to all of the stories about people like this.

Thank you.

We’ll see how it pans out. My point really is that unlike PMTM he’s got more room to manoeuvre and might go in a direction some brexiteers don’t like in order to shore up the centrist vote
He doesn't need to pander to any faction. He needs to put in place a deal based on the best interests of the country.

Grumpy cnut!
It's my fault. I reminded him that his English overlords wouldn't tolerate Indy Ref 2 and he formed a mental schiltrom. I tried Racine but with no success, however, I'm sure a dram or two will coax him out of it. Failing that we can always go down the traditional route of archers and heavy cavalry... :D
