Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Stupid question really but whats the best way to breath when running. Is it inhale through your nose or your mouth and exhale through your nose or your mouth, also can I use Fartlek training at my local running track. Thanks
  2. I always found that using my lungs was the best way.

...........kinda stops the buzzing in the ears just before you fall over.

If you knew it, why ask it?
  4. There's no such thing as a stupid question... ahem.
  5. First thing that popped into my head? "I find it helps!" :)
  6. A mate of mine tried running without breathing once. He suffered a mild case of death.
  7. In through the nose, out through the arse. Simples.
  8. Really? I've heard similar but always believed it to be an Urban Myth.
  9. Apparently if you breath through your ears it can help with the buzzing sound.
  10. Its gen (...ish)
  11. And helps when going down on fat birds.
  12. Running? How very undignified.
  13. It is often advised to breath whilst running, although a recent study suggested that some breathing enthusiasts have taken to doing it at other times of the day as well, some of them have even been known to go years without stopping.

Breathing out through the nose could end up causing a bit of a mess! stick with the old fashioned in through the nose out through the mouth...
  14. I have to say, the wahs are getting pretty poor.
