Sky news saying at least 27 dead including several children.
Terrible news, really genuinely shocking.
18 children between the ages of 5 & 11 years old...shocking!
The gunman is a father of a pupil.

ABC news reporting 27 dead including the gunman. 18 of the dead are children.
Newtown CT is an affluent town in Fairfield County, CT. Nice area not far from NY state line.
Tragic of course and my thoughts go to the relatives of the dead and injured.
But you've got to wonder at what point the US will realise that they need some seriously effective gun control over there that takes firearms away from the population generally.
The best figures I can find are around 10,000 deaths each year by firearms in the US. Over here it's around 40, the majority gang-related. Even allowing for the different population sizes, they are blindingly obviously doing something very wrong indeed.
Doubtless we'll hear the usual meaningless platitudes from US politicians that they are praying for the people involved. Nothing like a good enough response IMO.
Possibly 2x gunmen heavily armed. At what point will gun ownership in the US be addressed?
Do they not do mental health tests when someone applys for a firearm?
Introducing UK-type gun laws into the US will achieve the square root of zero in regards to stopping these events. Worked a treat in Dunblane and Hungerford. If a maniac(s) wishes to go postal, they will find the means.
Commiserations to the families of the dead and injured - an absolute nightmare for those involved.
Just watching the sky pictures now, and there's a fat bald policeman cutting around with an M16. He looks like its the 1st time he's ever held it. The way he's moving and acting he look like an air softer that's overly aware of the cameras.
How can the general populace be expected to act responsibly with firearms when even their law enforcement looks incompetent with weapons in their hands.
Sorry, you're wrong. 10,000 dead each year? UK-level gun control would reduce the numbers of weapons to a tiny fraction of those currently available. How many guns are there per head of population in the UK in comparison to the US - it must be significantly smaller. Thus gun-related deaths in the UK are far fewer. If we can do it, they could.
why the school again. what is it with these people.
Though I'm not suggesting UK style gun laws be introduced (nor did anyone on the thread) but I don't see how you think it would achieve **** all, when was our last school massacre/college massacre/cinema massacre etc?
If one thing would trigger a civil war, then depriving Cletus of his M60 would probably do it.
Some parents are getting the worst news of their lives today. Remember that - leave the political bitching until later.
