Boy Scouts barred from collecting for troops! FFS

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Boy Scout Troop 45 wanted to help U.S. soldiers overseas but a complaint left them in a jam.

The troop had placed donation boxes at 33 Cambridge polling stations on election day, hoping people would drop off toiletries and small comfort items for soldiers.

Troop Leader James Paterson told WBZ's Dan Rea everything was above board, however a poll worker complained it sent a pro-war message and all of their boxes were taken out by Cambridge election officials. The scouts used money originally earmarked for a scout trip to prepare for the campaign and had spent weeks getting flyers out etc.

  2. In the UK it would be seen as interfering with the election too I think.

They could still raise money elsewhere.

  3. I am in a modest outrage.
