The Labour Party is a major political party in it’s own standing. It has significant links with the Trade Union movement where it was original formed over a hundred years ago but it is an entirely separate sovereign organisation with it’s own organisational structure and hierarchy.

Funding comes from the Trade Union movement and elsewhere such as membership fees etc. That’s no different from Bamford Excavators and other major commercial entities funding the Tories. I will add that I’m not aware of any Russian oligarchs funding the Labour Party although it’s a matter of record that the Conservatives have welcome oligarch funding.

All the major political parties may have skeletons in their closets from the past but none of them match the scale of what this current bunch of gangsters in power are achieving in their grip on government and thus as a consequence their grip of the purse strings of government and the huge public money pit revealed as those strings are pulled wide apart for their chums to shovel billion of pounds of public money out into their personal bank accounts.

I think you'll find the TUC was set up in 1868, as a result of trades unions and associations setting up a collective method of shaping common policy across their Unions. This led to the formation of the Labour Party in 1900 not the other way round and yes as paymasters for the Labour Party it developed Policy for the betterment of the Working class at that time. The change came in the 1920's with the influence of Soviet Communism, fortunately not to the point of Revolution. Solidarity Comrade...
