I’m not excusing him by any means, he has a well known blind spot for giving a straight answer and telling the truth - he is a Politician after all.
My main annoyance is the open goal his delaying tactics behaviour has given to the sanctimonious opposition (of all Parties) and the MSM.
If only he had been open and honest from the beginning of this saga, with a massive Mea Culpa, he may well have avoided most of the shitstorm that has been dominating Westminster for what seems like an age.
When you become the story, over and above much more important matters of State, it’s not a good look - for No 10, the Country or our Press for that matter.

The Conservative Party at national level are no longer a genuine political party entity. The interests of the UK including those of the general of the UK population are irrelevant to it.

It’s now nothing more than a mechanism for enabling those who are now steering it to profiteer from their position of influence by misusing the vulnerable UK political system to extract wealth from public funds.

NHS privatisation, covid test and trace contracts, PPE clothing contracts, energy company profiteering, wholesale price increases across the board for everything.

They knew they’d won the day when they discovered they could just crack on without even hiding what’s going on or disguising it in any way.

And of course, apart from the huge expenses being claimed by ministers and Tory MP’s, where do they go when they cease their ministerial duties?

Well that’s the payback clause in the various contracts that they’ve organised for their various mates amounting to eye watering amounts of public money and they collect their share once the ministerial and Parliamentary yoke has been removed from their shoulders.

So yeah…… Thieves!!!
