Boot ache

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I recently got some new assault boots issued, and that old gripe of one feeling a bit looser round the ankle keeps rearing it's ugly head. If I pull the laces too tight though, my foot quite rightly feels like it's going to pop.

Yet if I don't I end up walking like mong cos my boot's flapping around like a ******* wrist.

    Any tips?
  2. Silly questions....they the right size? are you wearing the right socks and finally have you got the insoles in them?
  3. Why don't you tie the laces somewhere in between flapping around and so tight your feet will explode. surely it shouldn't be too hard, even for a Sapper.
  4. Ahhh, a dropshort.

It's a compromise between mobility and secureness, I want to be able to "move" my foot.
  5. You realise you don't need a thread on ARRSE as an evidence trail to persuade the doc that you deserve a biff chit for a pair of Lowas, right?
  6. Lol. Don't worry. They just need a good breaking in.
  7. Leather Assault boots?

    1x2 inch paintbrush
    1xtin "Flexalan" leather dressing

    Knock yourself out

  8. Coachaline, slapped all over the 'inside' so it seeps out.

Should be like a pair of slippers within weeks.
  9. Coachline?
    Is that like saddlesoap?
