Next competition folks for a copy of The Bleeding Land by Giles Kristian, set during the English Civil War this is the first book in a trilogy set in this period. The book is currently being reviewed for ARRSE and a link will be posted when that happens. In the meantime the book can be found at Amazon (although not available until April)

To enter the competition go to Survey Monkey and complete the questions - remember, read the question to make sure you understand it before answering. Entry Form.

Competition will run until midday (ish) on Sunday 26 February 2012.

  2. Question 3 is pretty hard. In fact I would go so far as to say it is vanishingly difficult to answer or even (in)visibly hard.

    I have no idea :)

  3. Sir Thomas Fairfax :)

It's a pity you don't have another account or you could have used it to re-enter !!

  8. I could create one......but I'm not that bothered.

  9. Done. More people died in the English Civil War than in both World Wars and Oliver Cromwell banned mince pies so every one you eat is one in the eye for Cromwell hurrah!

Well this has been running now for a few days and some interesting answers cropping up. Methinks that some people need to revisit their English history or at least read the question correctly to ascertain the correct answer from Wiki!! :plotting:

Still a week to go so still time to get your entry in. :crash:
