BOIL IN THE BAG

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Anyone any idea how long their shelflife is?, could i use ones from last year, this year??

  2. I'm not an expert but i think its anywhere between 8 and 10 years.

  3. I've got some from when they first came out (1990-ish?) and they're still perfectly ok. As with canned food, if the bag has no leaks and hasn't started to expand with gas, then the contents will last for decades.

  4. As above, but be aware if there has been a problem with a batch, the QM's get a list of dodgy packs and then they send them back, so if it's just sat in your bergen for a few years it may not be that great! Just make sure you keep the rat pack bog roll as well!
Personally i'll eat it up to about 2 years after :D
