BNP plans to seek safety in Croatian idyll

When the fossil fuels run out, leaders of Britain's far right hope to survive on a farm in the Balkans

A few miles from the historic southern Croatian town of Knin lie 1,100 hectares of farmland and a couple of abandoned buildings. A tributary from the river Krka runs through the lush countryside nestled close to the sun-drenched Adriatic coast.

It is a tranquil place, one that would make an ideal spot for a campsite or a clutch of holiday homes. But instead the land is destined for a rather more bizarre sort of retreat. It is here that a small cabal, comprising senior members of the British National Party, plans to hole up once, as they expect, the world's supply of oil runs out, triggering anarchy....

Let's hope the Croatian equivalent don't object to these dirty foreigners coming and taking over their land, contributing nothing to the local economy, etc ...

Would make for a interesting encounter at Zagreb airport.

Customs bod: Reason for visit?

BNP bod: We're economic migrants looking for a better life. Our oil's run out!

Customs bod: Fcuk off. We don't need your type here. Back to where you came from.

:D

Back to nature and living off the land seems to be a recurring theme with the far right. IIRC the National Front were in to this too, as was der Führer.

Is there a reason for this? Are they all closet environmentalists? Will we be seeing a Green Party/BNP alliance in the near future?

Not very patriotic buggering off at the first sign of trouble!! And given the Balkans past record, why do they imagine its not going to go off when the oil runs dry?

Dont forget that the Croat's supported the Nazis against Tito and that strangely, Germany was one of the first countries to recognise Croatia when it broke away from Yugoslavia. Perhaps they are going to their spiritual home. Scumbag ********* that they are.
