The heart of the site is the forum area, including:
Could anyone tell me the official BMI for a female wishing to joint the army?
http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/magazine/interactive/bmi/index.aspx# calculate it there then it will say if you are healthy or not. If you are then you are ok.
As long as your in a healthy weight range you should be fine.
To calculate your exact BMI marker, go here --> Click me.
Anything between 18.5 and 24.9 is healthy. Anything above or below is not...
...which is complete bollocks. Why the army rely on the BMI index is beyond me. People who do lots of exercise (Because muscle is a lot heavier than fat) often have skewered results resulting in completely inaccurate gradings.
Which describes about 99% of the people trying to join the british army then.
According to the BMI i should weigh around 11stone, i haven't weighed that since joining the Army but i'm not exacctly a huge blubbery mess of a man. It's all bollocks
mines 23 i think 25 is the top end
