Bloody Microsoft Office 2007!!

OK I have this on my lappie and don't have a product key for it, (yes it is legal, came with lappie, just don't use it very often, like never). Now I'm trying to do some work from home this evening and the stupid thing is telling me it's locked and I can't type up what I need too!!

Anybody know where I can find the product key for this? I've tried to google it but don't really know what I'm looking for.

Help anybody?

Ok have googled 'keyfinder' and something called magicjelly bean came up! Is that what I need?

I'm blonde, very stupid when it comes to pc's and lappies. So kind of need it spoon feed to me in step by step simple instructions. Lots of emphasis on the simple!

I am guessing the one which came installed on your laptop is a 60 day trial - which has expired.

Be very careful about using Keygens etc, as they tend to come laced with nasties.

Is your antivirus also a trial version?

Thank You Flaggie, I have gone for your option as it involves me doing no work. Also it's less confusing!!

Thank you as well LancePrivateJones

I had the same problem. Office 07 came installed already however it was the TRIAL version therefore you need to buy a product key from Microsoft. The first time you opened any office programme the 60 day trial would have activated. You cannot do anything with anything created until you upgrade to the licensed version.

A product key will cost a pretty penny but i have heard of UK forces discount on microsoft office products.

Yes.
Just download it, when it is downloaded install it and when it is installed click on to the Keyfinder icon and all will be revealed...hopefully.
Good luck.
PS Thanks for the tip for Open Office Flaggie, I am downloading it now.

MSR, I have used it past the 60 day thing (I did lie I have used it just not very often) and now it just doesn't work. The input product key thing did come up in the past, but when I clicked close on it, it still worked. Now it just doesn't, and I have crappy paperwork to do before a meeting tomorrow. I'm currently downloading Flaggie's link thing. Hopefully that will sort it out.

Right now I'm confused!! Which is the better one to download? Or do they both do the same thing? Also Flaggie's one says it needs 52minutes to download is that right?

Please can you delete those, as attention from Microsoft/FAST etc is something that ARRSE probably wants to avoid...

Anti virus is AVG and is showing everything up to date and all working.

It's giving me a head ache, why isn't it simple?

Hope you don't mind jumping in to help here. The 52 mins is dependant upon your connection's speed on the internet. i.e. hoe many other people are sharing your connection at your ISPs offices. 52 mins doesn't sound too bad. Considering the time of your post and the time now, I think that it has finished downloading and are installing it now.
I don't use MS office, I use Open(Libre) Office as I use Linux (OpenSuse Distro) as opposed to Windows. All my software is free, legit and no major AV concerns to worry about.

Flymo,

I have no idea what you just said, but it sounds good! I stopped the first download thing and went with MSR's and have 13 minutes left to download.
