Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. BBC

Ex-soldier who lost his sight defending a woman being attacked has set a record for skiing at almost 101mph downhill.

Congratulations to that man and an inspiration to people. I hope his attackers can't sit down at the moment because "Mr Big" took a liking to them in the showers
  2. You just beat me to it! was just reading this myself. What a bloke!

And I hope his attackers are always designated 'soap picker upper!'

Sorry to be cynical, but they probably got let off with community service or somesuch rubbish.

Good to see the Beeb actually publishing a good soldier story. More of the same please!

    Quality Guy
  4. Just read the story myself, well done that man. He must have balls of steel.
  5. Brilliant. Well done to him and St Dunstans the charity that supports ex Servicemen who are visually impaired or blind. It makes you feel very humble indeed.

Just watched it on the news. Did I see 162kph on the board? much respect.
  7. I presume this is the chap I met whilst in Les Arcs on AT in February (I'm guessing there aren't that many British blind downhill skiers!). A fantastic chap!
