  1. Wish them well but..............some hope getting truth from those two.

"A woman whose sister died in an IRA bomb in Birmingham has appealed to Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness to help find out who was responsible.

Julie Hambleton and her brother Brian were speaking yesterday during their visit to Belfast to seek justice for their sister Maxine. She was one of 19 people murdered by IRA bombs in Birmingham in 1974.

Six men – dubbed “The Birmingham Six” – were found guilty in 1975 but were cleared and released in 1991.

“If Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness can assist us in ascertaining any truth towards us getting justice for Maxine it would be most gratefully received,” Julie told the News Letter.

“Maxine was fun and designed her own clothes. She had just come back from picking grapes in France where she was improving her French. She had also won a place to study law at university. How ironic that the legal system has let her down so badly.”

Julie was only 11 when she was innocently waved into the house by her stepfather to hear the dreadful news.

“You never recover,” she told the News Letter through tears yesterday.

Her brother Brian added: “Maxine was like a mother and sister to us – and so much more.”

He had dropped her in the city centre and she was not home as he expected when he returned. He knew something was wrong."

  5. Christ! I didn't realise they still had a 'Serious Crime Squad' after the serious crimes the original Squad were accused of. I thought it would be consigned to the dustbin of history and the team given a new moniker.
