I went to the Spitalfields branch of Hawksmoor for a wedding anniversary meal. My God! To die for.

We had half a lobster in garlic butter to start. Angels dancing on your tongue could not compete. Then a bone-in rib with peppercorn sauce, triple cooked chips and roasted mushrooms.

The steak was beyond perfect, juicy, tender and tasty. The chips fluffy on the inside and crisp outside. Delicious. Pure food porn I know...

So what was the best meal you ever had?

I'm not asking about restaurants specifically merely giving my example.

It might be something like a home cooked meal or a takeaway or whatever floats your boat

The specific meal. Whether it was special for the food, the circumstances or the particular occasion.

I can both read and use the search function thank you Jarrod.

  10. Lunch on a sandy beach on an island in an 80 mile long lake in northern Quebec.

Walleye and northern pike caught an hour previously, served with saute potatoes, with a side of beer.

It was June and first thing, it had snowed, but now a blue sunny day.
