Best ear defenders?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Eh up.

I've a pair of the diaphragm-types plugs, a few years old now and I'm looking to get some nice Gucci ones.

Any tips as to decent ones?

    TIA

  2. The puretone custom moulded ones are pretty gucci. Pretty pricey too!

Good though. Battery change is a bit fiddly with cold or wet hands. Not sure how waterproof they are although mine haven't given any trouble.

  3. Get a pair of Insta-Molds - I think their UK dealers are Green Leopard. Earplugs which fit perfectly, outperform earmuff-style ear defenders, and can be worn all day if you need to.

The down side is that they don't keep your hat on and your ears warm when it's cold and windy...

  4. Green Leopard charge about 1.5 to 2x the going rate for electronic ear plugs.
