Bernard Cornwells Starbuck Quadrilogy

#1
Just finished Bernard Cornwell's ACW collection, four extremely well written books weaving the story of his hero into the main battles of the ACW. Very factual including most of the characters of the US and CS Armies and governments as well as the fictionous Nate Starbuck and his Regiment.

REBEL
COPPERHEAD
BATTLE FLAG
THE BLOODY GROUND

Highly recommended, especially if you liked the Sharpe series of books/tv/films.

One of my favourite 'Easter Eggs' in that series was Col Patrick Lassan, who is French military attache to the Confederacy and Sharpe's son!

Yes, that was a good one, especially as he goes on to describe his parentage and Father's wishes for him. Lucky to end up with Truslow's daughter too, by the sound of it! ;)
