Apparently Mr Berloscuni - a moral and ethical model of a free world leader, if ever there was one - wants his boys home, following the killing of six men in a car bomb.

"We are all convinced that the best thing for all of them is to leave soon, to no longer have a presence there," Berlusconi said in Brussels, Belgium.

Is this the beginning of the end of all our efforts in Afghan?

Perhaps not: A slightly closer reading of the article suggests that the headline is off target:

"I've spoken with [U.S. President Barack] Obama during the G-8 and we are preparing a plan which could be enacted as soon as our training of the Afghan forces is carried out successfully."

So, IOW, the Italians are in for the long haul. Good show.
