Berlin 1936 - colour video

not entirely military, but there is a rather cool colour video of Berlin at the time of the '36 Olympics that show the city that many ARRSErs know so well.
Very odd seeing some of those streets prior to the 'remodelling' work by the Red Army and Bomber command.

I saw the video here, where there are also some impressive images, including this one.

Always interesting to see examples of German life prior to the war. The last (I think?) edition of the '30's in Colour' recently shown on BBC included amateur footage of the time.

Quite a number of various on YouTube but naturally mostly propaganda. Leni Riefenstahl's 'Triumph of the Will' is on there in full (@ 1hr 3/4s) with subtitles

and an interesting one of a collection of election and ascension speeches.

Some time ago on TV, they discussed the work of Riefenstahl - sort of art in propaganda - and showed some out-takes which included a candid shot of Adolf spectating and rocking to-and-fro like a mong! 8O Didn't make the final cut, wonder why?
