Berets and cap badges

It used to be that the cap badge on a beret should be above the left eye.

Increasingly one sees it verging towards the left ear.

Any reason for this?

That's nothing; I saw a soldier with a twisted bootlace! How are we going to win in Afghanistan with cap badges not over the eye and twisted boot laces??? You ******* boring kunt!
