A 2 seat Belgian Air Force F-16BM ( believed to be tail number FB-18 from Florennes AB) crashed today on approach to BAN (Base Aeronavale) Landivisiau, having departed it's home base in Belgium.

Both pilots banged out, but one has been caught on a electrical pylon, and the rescue of this crewman is currently ongoing.

Link,

Needless to say, hopefully all will go well for this crewman, and a speedy recovery to both.

There's not that many gone down recently.

You want to encounter a type with a high loss rate, go to the USAF F-4 Phantom history ( albeit a lot of losses were in the Vietnam war)

Or German Starfighters, a crash a week even into the 1970s. Or anyone's Starfighters, come to that.
