Not a review but to ask if anyone else has read this book and can offer a review.
It seems to me this might have good potential, the author's research interests are quite centred on European and British conflict and related politics/machinations. He has had the blessing of and privileged access to GCHQ records.

The BBC article brings out some salient points he book makes that stir the interest. The book also has a broader context covering early days at GCHQ up to Edward Snowdon and how each of these has helped/hindered/shaped intelligence outcomes and events. The subject matter in a broad context in the present day world is as at the forefront (if not more so due to Cyber reliance and that state threat actors now seem to be putting an awful lot of energy and stock into winning in this contest.
