(PTP - if this is a repeat or poorly sited, please shift!) There is a relatively new resource available online called BeforeYouSignUp.info. The premise is that young people aren't well enough informed about the unique pressures of service life 'before they sign up'. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions. Quite a lot of it is fairly simple run-of-the-mill stuff, but this independent 160 page report (PDF @ 6MB) is extremely interesting and sobering reading, even if you just skip through it. I only opened it for a look and have just spent 2 hours, utterly absorbed in it. I doubt many will read it all, but I'd certainly be interested - as a professional soldier and trainer - to hear your views. Note: The report may be copied and distributed freely.
